Anyone play? I saw the steam sale, and was curious if it was worth the 10bucks for one month.

I played wow, got bored with that after playing since vanilla, played rift for a while, never even made it to max level. Pretty boring, IMO. I'm just a bit miffed I wasted money on that game, but whatever.

Acid and I tried it. Great graphics when comparing to wow and had some unique features. But, in the end it's wow. I got bored. Haven't played it in a few months. Subscription canceled. IMO, leave it be.

Saw the title and thought (hoped) it was based of the old Palladium RIFTS universe. That woulda been cool. But it wasnt and its not

For those that dont know what RIFTS was, It's Road Warrior, Lord of the Rings, Jurassic Park, Star Wars and Blade Runner all thrown into one pot and stirred vigorously. It's like being a chemically enhanced ninja assassin fighting vampires in the burned out husk of Mexico City while your buddy tries to open a rift in space time to a hell dimension full of demonic insect people.

Too bad there was no sense of tuning, everything was overpowered and was an absolute mess to game. But it was it a cool world that had no limits to what could occur.

I know of at least three people that played wow regularly since 2004 that left for rift and still haven't gone back to WoW. It would be an awesome WoW alternative if they could get more players. I played the second month it opened and couldn't shake the empty-ness of it, I guess I should have gave it more time but I stopped playing games for a bit right about then.

I've played both WoW and Rift, SWTOR is better than both, IMO. WoW is definitely better, gameplay wise than Rift, but I think TOR is better than WoW is, but that may just be the "newness" of it.

I played Rift when it first came out, and in beta, I have 3-4 characters I haven't touched in over 4 months, one max level when I quit playing. It was fun for one character to max, then it just got boring, the storyline differences between classes wasn't enough to keep me interested in the other characters.

Been playing the SWTOR beta this weekend as Empire-Imperial Agent, and I have to say I like it a lot more than Rift. The voice acting alone, and the Bioware interactions have been cool. That and the graphics and world in the Star Wars universe are amazingly done. I'm very impressed so far. Hopefully tomorrow I can try out the other classes, etc.

i have likely 1000 hours of WoW and thought rift was trash after 40, SWTOR better than WoW after 20

                          Edit: meant days

I just did some math on how many hours I have logged in WoW. I think it's time to quit.
