Harddrive went out

Is there a good software that could grab anything off of it. I've read that putting it in the freezer for awhile will give you enough time to get stuff off of it. Anyone ever tried that and worked. Mine is in there now. I have a backup of it, but I just added stuff just recently that I haven't backed up.

UPDATE!!!
Freezing hard drive little over an hour(in my case)worked. I just retrieved what I didn't have backed up. Read that people just put it in a ziplock bag, but since I had a vacuum sealer, figure I'd use that since no moisture would be left in hard drive. Going on 15 minutes already. Just need to get another drive and I'll be good.

For whatever reason, pc said no HD found on Sata4, so I just unplugged it and did the freezing, when it was actually HD on my sata2 that went out???
