  • iPhone 4 slowness

I've noticed it running slower then normal lately. And as I type this my Thumbs are about 4-8 letters ahead of the keyboard. It's quite annoying. It is upgraded to the ios5. 16gb iPhone 4 black. Phone is restarted frequently and apps removed from que all the time (double clicking home button which to me looks like apps in que.)

Go to settings, then location services, then turn everything off. Then exit out of that, and clear out all your recently used apps (don't delete them - if you need to know how to do that, youtube it).

If you mean when typing in the reply box on this website, it's the website, not your phone. If you mean even when texting, then it's because you have too much shit on your phone.

in the future, wait for a proven version of a firmware to upgrade. ...or at least don't upgrade to a version where .0 follows the firmware version number. ie; 4.0, 5.0, etc. i'm still on 4.3.2, and i don't see any reason to upgrade right now. besides, if you go to 5.0 (unless you're running on a 3gs with old bootrom), there's no untethered jailbreak that i'm aware of.

My Iphone is pretty sluggish as well ever since updating. Hopefully, the next update will do something about it but probably not.

I know its a pain, but I have found building a new image (instead of restoring) can clear out shit after so many OS upgrades. Kind of like a fresh copy of iOS.

Basically, restore as a "new iphone", then re-setup all of your accounts, re-install your apps, re-sync your music, etc.

I just did this when I bought a factory unlocked iphone 4. My restore was really sluggish after upgrading so may times since my 3g. Now it works really well.
