Glad my Windows Phone is not part of this "vs" debate. May not be as popular as the iPhone or Droid phones, but it sure is a great OS.

May also not have as many cr(apps) like the other to OSs, but the ones it does have are nice.

ios 5 worked great on the iphone 4 and I just picked up my new 4S and I like it for what its worth, I wasn't going to upgrade but I dropped my 4 last friday and broke the screen so I went ahead and got the new one today. I can sell the broke 4 for what I paid to upgrade to the 4S so that's what I'm going to do.

The difference between the $400 iPhone 4S and the $200 iPhone 4S is a couple of $30 Micro SD cards. That's it, you're paying $200 more for extra storage.

So I finally did the update. DL and install of iOS5 took 27 minutes from start to finish. I then went to sleep right after I started the restore for my music/videos. I was logged in to our network at the office, and at some point throughout the evening, our office lost power. So, I don't have my music back yet, but I'll let it run again this evening. That's the part that takes so long. Of course, I've got 30ish gigs of music in apple lossless format, so, that's a lot to restore/transfer.

I scored on my upgrade as well. It was better than free. Sold my 3GS on Craigslist for $200 before the 4s was announced and bought a refurb'd 4 for $99. $107 w/ tax plus $18 upgrade fee = $125. I made $75 going from the 3GS to the 4. With ios 5, I'm pretty happy with the new phone. And maybe someday, they'll be able to hack Siri to where it'll work on the 4.

It might be true though considering android phones cost less than iPhones. I don't think that it's compensating for not having awesome computers. It's just cheaper, and that's that. Computers are cheap now. You can get a netbook for cheaper than an iPhone and it will do everything that you need for school as far as getting online and taking notes.

Which brings me to an irrelevant point. Statisticians...why do they even exist? They're about as useful as all of the people predicting the end of the world.

The cell phone has become somewhat of a "necessity" nowadays, my uncle is the only one that I know that refuses to get one. So factor in that people can get a phone for $50 with a new plan, and even the cheap computers are several hundred for a little netbook, and then tack on monthly Internet service. Then it does become much cheaper just to have a smart phone, than having both.

The TV stat makes sense too, low-income families spend a lot less on entertainment in general, so there are for more in that segment that spend a lot of time at home, especially factoring in the non-working welfare class. So to them a bigger TV is a priority. I bet a lot of those big TV's are paid for with non-reported income, or they are paying weekly on it (and double the original cost) from a rent-a-center.

go to the app store and download vlingo...it's free and similar to siri, though not as cool. i'm sure that they'll have siri out for download, once the 4s hype dies down. also, you can mess with the 4s while it's syncing...i don't know if it's on the new software or just the 4s, but i thought that was cool.

btw, if anyone is looking for a black iphone 3gs 32gb, i have one already on ios 5.

It's iOS5, I was able to mess with mine while it was syncing last night. So far I like iOS5, but really wish it came with Siri.

Updated my iPhone 3gs the day after iOS5 came out and my phone is noticeable slower but still very functional. I really like the update but there are areas that could be improved upon. First to mind is the Wi-Fi sync is limited. I thought it would allow me to transfer music, videos, etc via Wi-Fi but it really is just a sync. Also you can only Wi-Fi sync if you are plugged into a power source. Fail. Lots of good things though and worth the update IMO.

Only a tethered JB via a Mac, wasn't available under Windows when I last checked at the end of last week.

I actually got the iphone4 and updated to 5 with no issue. I like how the imessage feature. Let's you text msg free for those who updated to 5. There is a "semi-JB" now for the 5, but not worth it till full jb comes out. I'm gonna say probably within a week or so.

From reading, it says "The Redsn0w 0.9.9b7 update is not an untethered jailbreak. It’s a tethered jailbreak, as previous, for all iOS devices except iPhone 4S or iPad 2.".
