I dont think waiting has anything to do with it. Its very random but last time when it happened to us, it said it backed up the phone before updating like it always does but after it got wiped I tried loading the backup and it said there was no backup. I used the same file to update my old 3GS that the kids use right after my wifes got wiped and it didnt wipe that one.

It was real weird but back to my original post, its just sad that its such a production to update these iphones when the thing they are known for is simplicity. As much as I hate all the fragments od Android OS, the actual update is stupid easy. You get a notification at the top of your screen, you click "ok" and it downloads a small file, phone restarts and does the update then boots up. Takes MAYBE 3 minutes max (not to be confused with RATT's "max" that has already doubled, lol) No external computers, no other programs, no drama.

OS 5 allows you to update without a computer from now on...

I honestly didn't know you had an Android, and I thought Matt's was a WebOS phone, having something to do with his employer? At least, that was the last I knew. I don't have phone envy, so I don't run around comparing my phone to someone else's. Mine suits me just fine for business and personal. Sure, not having flash is a drag, but honestly, it's not that big of a deal. I always have my phone, ipad, and laptop on me. If the phone/ipad won't do something, I'll drag out the Dell.

I know Matt has a Dell Venu running Windows Mobile 7 for work, not WebOS from what I remember.

I read that too. We will see how well that works out with the next update. 99% of the problem though is the size of the update and how its installed I think. I dont know crap about programming but like I said, full android updates arent near the size of a IOS update for some reason.

I updated to ios5 last night with no issues... I like the iCloud so far.. the only issue I have found is that you get 5gb free... but I have 5.5gb of pictures so I either have to decide not to back them up or pay $20 a year for 10gb cloud..
I haven't decided on that part yet.. I can still load them on my computer for free but what if my computer bombs...

but so far I like it.

its just a phone who gives a damn! as long as it allows you to make calls and send texts then there you go! if you want a computer go buy one! all bs aside i own an iphone3 seems about the same as 4! im happy with it...

It's more then just a phone for people who use all the tools a smart phone can do.

If anyone wants to store their pictures in the "cloud" for safe keeping, MS gives 25GB of space for free through their SkyDrive feature. Just another option than having to pay for an extra 10GBs ro whatever the offer is.

With the 3g, I got the base model, and quickly realized it wasn't enough storage for all my songs. So as soon as I could, I upgraded to the 3GS with double the storage. Cracked the screen on it, and when the upgrade was available, I upgraded to the 32 gig iphone 4. Even that bastard is full, too. But I won't upgrade again until the 5 comes out. This half upgrade 4 isn't enough for me to want to upgrade yet. Even though the front, and back are both shattered. lol. I'm hard on phones physically.

My phone ran out of storage once too.

actually i learned that the lower classes are the main purchaser of the most advanced smart phones simply because they can't afford a computer (IT professor showed us the statistic). she went on to say it is because the lower class can't afford computers so they use their smart phones as computers. she said she has seen many students typing essays on their phones. if i had to do that it would drive me crazy!

i still run a jailbroke 3gs. i am due for an upgrade and i will stay with apple, not because i think that it is better than android, it's because i don't want to have to learn a new OS. i would just stay with my 3gs, but it doesn't have a flash on the camera, and that is the main reason i am upgrading.


and screw icloud. i will never put any of my stuff on a web based storage. i have all my stuff on an external hd that i can take anywhere i want.
