Haven't been a Biostar user myself. Not sure, now, why I went with it. But It's got some goods for the price. Reviews were in check for being a "budget" board. You can squeeze an Asus or an MSI in there for just under $100.

Also Microcenter had the i5 2500k for $150 on BF... best deal of the year
    ....prices may vary.

I am needing to update my PC and do it on a light budget, so here is what I have come up with so far. I am an Asus fan so that is my first choice, not sure about Asus video cards though. I plan on reusing my case and fans, dvd drive and hard drive. I'm trying to cut the fat out where I can. Any thoughts?

Personally, I prefer EVGA cards for the lifetime warranty. Used it on 3 different cards.

And BFG had a lifetime warranty also... ask me why my BFG card is still broken.

I know EVGA is going to be in business, they have a very large market share. I learned that from my last experience.

Same with xfx last I checked, but I prefer xfx mainly because i don't own any nvidia cards. I only went with sapphire on my 6970s because of the deals I got on them. My next trifire setup will be from xfx. My 5870 and 4870 are from them and I'll see how they handle rma's if/when the cards go belly up.
Evga is awesome for nvidia cards and xfx makes those as well, so if you (not you in particular) decide to sell the card; the buyer will have a lifetime warranty as well and won't have to rely on you to initiate the rma (if you resold an evga card for instance).

A transferable warranty is great, but I honestly don't sell my video cards when they are worth anything, most of the time they are fucked or too slow to even be worth anything.

so i finished my computer sort of.

My buddy is upgrading all of his shit and he sold me his mobo, processor, and video card for $250

                          I now have a
                          asus mobo w/ overclocking ability
                          geforce gts 250
                          intel i7 860
                          seagate 1 tb 7200rpm HDD

It runs very well, I will be upgrading the video card someday but at least i dont have a "slow" computer anymore.
