4890 does meet the minimum requirements, I wouldn't worry too much about that, going any higher than medium setting might have a issue. You just don't have DX11 capability with the 4 series correct?

Been playing since, performance is okay I guess but I bet towards release it'll get better. right now on the first push I get (as does everyone on my vent) flickering in the map but once you go to the subway it subsides.

Running it at ultra @ 2560x1600 with everything as far right (no vsync) as it goes. Performance is around 40fps~80fps. It loads up about 9 cores to around 30~40% on my hexacore.

560's in sli scale really well. And I wouldn't buy 580's or 6990's or anything right now, GPU's suck right now. Best thing to do is wait for 28nm.

My $300 laptop is not capable of playing BF3. That's why I prefer console gaming. My $300 xbox should run it just fine.

Probably not. My laptop has a tough enough time with Bad Company 2. It's essentially a 9800GT.

if your on ati and have xfire, 11.10 + 11.8 cap5 fixed the flickering for me. apparently quite a few people are having flickering issues on the first push before you go down in the subway. (single and dual/tri cards)

my buddy has quadfire 6990's and he's getting 30fps @ 5760x1080p maxed out.

Well looked at the recommended and still only looking for a 4ghz quad core and 4GB of ram and I definitely have that. Just gotta step up the video card to a 580 or so and I'll be in good shape
