I am going to call verizon tomorrow or next day to cancel my tv...about 90% sure I am cancelling unless they throw some deal at me that makes me rethink the whole thing. here is my current bill prices what i am paying now.

i am getting the double play price of 89.99
    Fios tv extreme HD 51.99
    Fios internet 20/5 38.00
    1 standard box rental 5.99
    1 DVR box rental 12.99

i did a speed test and here is what i got after doing 3 or 4 times.

    http://www.speedtest.net/result/1502256125.png

I am getting 11.3 Mbps down and 4.3 Mbps upload on Fios at 34ms ping.

    questions
1.) if I cancel my tv...will they try to jack up my price on the internet for not having bundle pack anymore? I found on their website where they are charging for 15/5 around $55

2.) if they somehow changed my mind about cancelling the tv, could i get them to drop the rental charges on the boxes in the house. also my dvr box is not HD capable, for which I think I am paying for HD channels but not being able to access them. SO all in all can I get rid of the box rental fees and/or get HD capable boxes in process.

Never hurts to ask nicely, we are paying 99 cents a month for HD DVR for the next year. I thought all of their boxes were HD though

was that speedtest conducted with a wireless or wired network connection? i have fios 25/25. i lose roughly 25-30% of that throughput over wireless, which is typical for home networking. there are many reasons you could be seeing such high latency that is not a server side issue. if you're wireless, you may need to relocate your access point and also switch channels. you might be on a busy channel shared by neighbors. you should download a free wifi inspector and see how many people share your channel. also, if this happens to be on a wired network, then 9/10 it's a driver issue. or the router needs a reboot, especially after a lot of gaming. it is possible that they don't have your account properly provisioned, but i doubt it.

fyi:i get high pings times from speedtest on occasion. try speakeasy and select the dallas server. see if there is a disparity. http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/

the comp. I am on is wireless to the router...I will try hooking the router directly to the comp. and seeing what difference there is on the speed tests.
I did the speakeasy speedtest 5 times and these are the numbers I got, download and upload respectively in Mbps.
        29.7-4.53
        35.07-4.53
        15.26-4.53
        38.99-4.48
        31.58-4.53

I redid the speedtest.net again and got download speeds between 11-12 Mbps like i did the other day, so i dont know why the other website shows an almost 3X speed increase in download.

My bill is the only problem I have with them. $200/mo roughly. Granted, I have extremeHD, all the movie channels, etc. Still fucking ridiculous. I'm considering dropping the tv all together.
