I'll probably end up buying it after work tonight, for ps3, though.

I've been interested in playing it, but I heard it was buggy, run into any problems?

Here is one forum that is full of issues -
I'm not really into zombie games but this looked really interesting. It's a semi realistic take on an open world zombie rpg. The game is melee focused with four classes to chose from. The main goal is to survive and escape the island. 6 min gameplay video YouTube - ‪Dead...

From my understanding, a lot of the issues were due to a pre-release/bad copy being released on steam.
I bought mine after the patch/update. I haven't had any issue at all, and i'm about 6 hours into it.

Man I was REALLY looking forward to this game, but they fucked up by selling a different game than was released.
This is not the game I was looking towards, I don't like it. Yeah they fucked up the Steam release, I can get by that (edit) which they later fixed. But the shit gameplay, LINEAR game play (where is my fucking open world), and the inventory system is horrid.

Performance is great, eyefinity works, fov is now adjustable, default shadows are shit and can be fixed as well. The one thing you can't change is fun and I didn't have fun playing this game.

This however is not the game I remember reading about and the first cg release made this to be something completely different imo.

Sorry but I expected more for my money.

lmao, I will admit this made me laugh out loud.

It's more borderlands -open than say, cod-linear.
The ONLY thing i don't like, is the lack of projectile weapons. I don't count being able to throw things.

Yeah and I didn't really like Borderlands (yeah yeah yeah I know) which is probably why I don't like this game that much. I do hope that mods will open it up and fix what the dev's couldn't.

Just curious, but besides not being 100% open world, what'd they mess up?

quests are bugged, quite a few.

inventory is horrible (quick swap fixes that to some degree)

degradation (can be fixed with mods) forces you to change it up when you attack zombies but from when I played weapons degrade extremely quickly. maybe that changes at the end-game.

very repetitive (combat/scenery), having a true open world game would have fixed this imo. you're on an island for god's sake they could have done some realllllly nice things with the setting.

I can't comment how well co-op works, but my friends on steam are telling me its bugged at the moment. to what degree not sure, I didn't ask for specifics.

For a game that has been in development since 06, I expected much much more depth.

(edit) jacked up launch, pc users get an xbox port, weak story and this is what pisses me off. the original trailer launch really set it up for this strong story/character building etc. but it just falls short in game.

I've been playing it on ps3. The game is pretty cool, but I have to mute it and play music. The audio is horrible, it cuts out(along with the video for a split second) whenever something happens in the game(save points, loud noises, fast zombies, etc...). That makes the game unplayable, to me at least.

So I'm just waiting for a patch.

I'm glad that doesn't happen on pc. No cut outs or anything like that.

The inventory system is pretty pathetic, i'll give you that.
I haven't experience weapon degredation very much, but i have a habit of upgrading my weapons fully pretty quick.

I have gotten lost in the scenery before because of how common it is. I am still very early in the game. . only level 12 or 13, so i don't know what the rest of the island is like.

I love the combat, i love the zombie atmoshpere, and I like how tough some parts can be. I also like how you can't just run through it and kill everything.

Not liking borderlands is a damn crime!

I'm hesitant on buying it on PC till I know its fixed... I did that with Brink and that was a huge fucking disaster. A few of my friends bought it but told me to wait because they're still able to warp around to any part of the map and other little shit here and there rofl. So Ill just keep Botting on WoW and making money.

I can't do any warping, and i haven't had any issues.
