Just go to crucial.com and run their memory scanner to see what it supports.

I went that route and it couldn't tell me. It recognized how much I had but couldn't recommend one.

I found DDR3-16000 240pin which will fit and is the same except for higher MHZ. I know a long time ago when I messed with cpu stuff you could run a higher one but it would run at the lowest installed RAM. nowdays I am out of the loop. I guess I could do chat on crucial?

That presupposes that his mobo will support 16000 ram though.
