  • Lost My Ipad 2...Am I SOL??

I'm a fucking retard and left my Ipad 2 in the seatback pocket of an airplane on Wednesday night. I've done all I can through the airlines, but have very little hope that it'll show up. It was the most basic 16GB WiFi version, but with the cover, it's still $700 to replace.

Anyone aware of any tracking method? Some people are saying that I should be able to track it or somehow shut it down. If it were a 3G version I could see it, but I don't know what you can and can't do with a WiFi version.

    Thanks in advance.

    find my ipad?
really that'll only help you if they turn it on and it connects to a wifi signal assuming they have your passcode. If not, than well; yah your sol. Call apple immediately and tell them your s/n (call a local store) and report it stolen.

There is no password...only a swipe to unlock. I think there was probably an option I could have enabled to password protect it, but I didn't.

I'll call the Apple store. Thanks.

That's your best and only chance at possibly getting it back, or screwing over the "new" owner of it if they take it into the store.

Its very easy to get a warranty transferred, just go to the store with the device and
        talk to an associate.

            personal articles policy.

renters or homeowners insurance, but the deductible probably makes it pointless.

Good call...but yeah, I think my deductible is 1% of the insured value, or roughly 3x the price of the Ipad.

what I am wondering is how do you process the lack of focus coming from fellow men as to "forget" a $700 piece of portable hardware.

The Ipad has many advantages over a laptop and is well worth the money, to me. It meets all of my needs and hasn't ever given me any problems whatsoever.

When I landed I got some texts that I was responding to that distracted me, I guess. I was in the first row and just in a hurry to get off of the plane.

I'm going to give the airlines a few more days, and then I'll just go buy another one. I'm pretty sure I'll keep a closer eye on this one.

lets leave this shit out of the thread.
