  • secure document e-mail question

I have a background check in the form of a Word file(*.doc) and the requestor(work related) wants me to submit it to them via email. Since this has a lot of personal information involved I am hesitant to just send it normally. I've already postponed them for a week over what I see as a personal security risk.

In regards to identity theft, is there any way to make it more secure when I email it?

    Thanks in advance.

You could password protect it and send the pword in a separate email.

This isn't directly for my employer, but for one of their customer's customer's customers. They needed a signature, and my scanner broke a while back. So I emailed them and they said it was OK to drop off a copy with the end user's HR dept. I had to drive through on my way to Odessa today anyway. So I ended up delivering it in person and avoiding all the extra eyes/hands on my info.

I have already gone through a background check for my employer in regards to performing work in customer's homes and separate checks for each of the different State/Federal Agencies that I work with. Those have always been done in person or through some accredited organization.

You wouldn't think it would be this hard to get in to prison... LOL
