so can you make real money mining bitcoins?

yes you can, my buddy is pulling in around 600 monthly doing this in his pool.

(he's on tri 6970's, underwater with a high core clock) however when we play bc2 or something he's not mining so depending on his gaming habits i'm guessing 600 might be a bit high.

Im still confused how you can make money with a video card. This whole bit coin thing is confusing

well you've heard of seti, f@h, same concept really but; out of the 4 people I know who are mining still have yet to explain (as they don't know either) how it can translate into real money.

my understanding is they are just gonna keep riding the wave until it dies down.

The whole bitcoin thing makes my head hurt but from what little I have researched. Bitcoins from the start are easy to mine but the more that are generated, the harder it is to mine them. So essentially the person who came up with the whole gig set themselves up to be rich. Im not mad at people who somehow make money of mining them though, that sounds like a decent gig.
