Hard drive backup question

What program is everyone using to backup a whole hard drive?

I need to re install windows on this pos Toshiba laptop that keeps BSOD on me

Both links are Acronis True Image software that is branded for either company. It is completely free to use as long as at least one of the drives is either brand of the designated software.

ok sweet, this worked great on my desktop I just cant keep this laptop from blue screening while I'm backing it up....

Try it from safemode or better yet, dl Blue Screen View and post the contents of the error so we can help you diagnose it. You could have a failed(ing) stick of ram causing your issue and a format/reinstall won't help.

ok I downloaded that program but I cant even get it to open before I blue screen.....
