  • I hate wife's new computer

My wife has been complaining that her computer is slow compared to mine. I ordered everything for her from new egg.

    I5 2400 Sandy Bridge
    Biostar Th67+ motherboard micro atx
    8GB pc1333
    Crucial M4 64 SSD
    LG blue ray lightscribe
    Microatx desktop cube
    Wireless keyboard and mouse
    23" widescreen
    2.1 speaker system
    Win 7
(no graphic card using just the integrate graphic on the processor)

It runs every smooth. Boots in to win 7 in less than 15 from post beep. Plays videos from Netflix great and the games I play on my computer are much better on hers. I thought the integrated graphics would be so so but works very well for someone that doesn't need high end graphics.

I hate this computer because it kicks the crap out of my K6 x2.

I am already Planning to out do her computer. Moohahaha.

    };

Sounds like someone has chip envy.

You gotta let the woman have something better. That way you can plat the pitty card easier.

I hope your not seriously comparing her Intel I5 to an AMD K6 II from around 1997-98. Please tell me that was a typo

I just built a rug for a friend w/ an i3 2100 and in most cases it will out bench my phenom quad when it's only a dual core. Intel has done a really good with optimization of the r architecture of their chips since the since the core 2 line. Clock for clock they've been more powerful.

I, for one, am anxious to see what Bulldozer has to offer. On paper it sounds like it'll be gnarly. On the flip side though, Intel announced a new micro architecture for their chips that will revolutionize the industry and keep amd playing catch up for years to come.

I am wondering if I should wait until BD just to see if I get a price drop on the sandy bridge processors. It might also give time for sandisk to patch the firmware that is cause BSOD and sizing errors on the new SSD controllers. . Those new drives are faster than what I just bought but are not reliable. The comments on new egg steered me away from getting one.

I didn't know anything used triple channel. I learned something new. The new 1155 socket I5 2500k is faster than the I7 950.

I paid $295 for the 2400 and mobo.
