  • Looking at a Netbook To Buy, Any Suggestions?

I'm looking to buy a netbook, anyone on here has one and which ones that are out are a good buy. My price range will most likely be between 300-350

I have had a Acer Aspire One for going on 2 years as our main computer at the house. I love the portability but if you with the Aspire One just realize the tradeoff for the dirt cheap price is a cheap laptop. Mouse buttons are really stiff, keyboard flexes but its damn near bulletproof. I take that little thing everywhere I go.

      My suggestion... is this.

700.00 BUT it will stomp the shit out of a NEt book any day of the year, its light sleek and good for about 6.5 hours on wifi

I just bought one and have it here in front of me... Considering i travel quite a bit, this perfect for me...

If your really stuck in that price range then look for soemthing with the AMD E350 dual core processor... Good on battery and decent CPU power for what it is... (better than an ATOM processor)

SALE ENDS ON the 15th of Aug

I just recently bought an Acer Aspire One. 2.15GHz processor, 2GM DDR3, Windows 7 home premium, etc. I think I paid right at $400 at Fry's

I fucking love this thing. I looked at a bunch of them, but the Acer has the best keyboard in the little netbook size laptops, and the mouse pad is awesome. has multi-touch and it isn't overly touchy and trying to open links when I'm not wanting to like my HP did. I had to disable the mouse pad click feature and scroll on that thing because they weren't intuitive enough to know WTF I was trying to do.

This little thing is awesome. I've had big lap tops and really big laptops in the past, and I prefer this over all of them.

Oh, and this one has a 6 cell Li-ion battery. They say 6hrs on a charge. They mean it! LOL

Yea i've looked at some of the Acer netbooks and thats what Im thinking about getting. My coworker has one and its damn near bulletproof. Im most likely going to go to Fry's and see what they have next weekend being that its Tax Free Weekend so I'm betting their will be stuff on sale.

Can you upgrade the 1 GB RAM to 2 GB's and if you can is it hard to do?

I pulled the access panel off of my A1 a couple weeks ago because I could have sworn it had 2 gigs of RAM but the system only showed one. I didnt see any RAM or anything else servicable under ther compartment door so Im unsure how to upgrade RAM. Im sure its possible though, just google it. May require taking the laptop apart though.

I have a dell mini 10 netbook I got for the wife. The only compaints are that the clicking buttons on the mousepad are actually part of the mouse pad (this is ok for some people but not my preference). It runs great but could use a little more memory. I was going to buy one more stick of memory which would make it perfect but decided to sell it since she uses my nook all the time instead of the netbook.

im on best buy.com and most of the netbooks on there are 1 GB's but some are upgradeable to 2 GB's. Im sure its probably not that hard, just have to read how to do it.

I use my Acer A1 on a daily basis for work and it holds up well to abuse.

There isn't good access to swap RAM. You basically have to disassemble the whole thing.
