I'm a couple hours into the 2nd disc now, it's pretty awesome. The combat is a lot better than the first, more difficult too.

Nerd question... has anyone read the mass effect books?

I thought I read somewhere that in ME3 they were going to bring back the inventory system like in ME1. I think it was the article in Game Informer.

To an extent. I think they're gonna allow for attachments on weapons, but not to the extent that you have the 20 of the same upgrade items in your inventory.

kanetrain, the disc number doesn't matter on ME2. You'll have to switch back and forth between disc 1 and 2 a couple of times, just depends on what mission you're on.

Did anyone else figure out how to make a load of money buying crap from the medical chick at a discount and selling to the traders downstairs? I spent 20 mins doing that and had more money than I could spend. Good to upgrade all ur gear.

There's a mission in which you help the doctor in the Med bay on the opposite side of the wards. If you help her you get a discount. Then you just go to the wards and sell the shit she sold you. With how much stuff you randomly pick up in the game, as long as you sell the crap you don't need after every major mission you'll never be hurting for money. About half way through the game I don't know if I ever dropped below a million credits.

Very different game. ME2 is a lot more tight quarters than the first. I hope that they do a good job of mixing the two in the third.

That's no joke. The husks are WAY tougher and in WAY greater numbers when you start encountering the "collectors". In ME1, not once did I have to use hand to hand combat, but this one you have to use it. I find myself utilizing every single weapon I have, while in the first one I went through the whole game pretty much using my assault rifle.

Is the first Mass Effect available for ps3? Just went over to eBay and looked it up but only ME2 comes up.
