"Cannot display web page problem"

I have a hp pavillion laptop on vista that is having a problem with explorer. It is connected wirelessly to my router and will not display any web pages. I have run a diagnostic of the connection, deleted all browsing history, run a system check, run explorer without add ons, and updated to explorer 9. Still it shows a wireless connection (local and internet), but still says "cannot display web page.
I am currently on my toshiba using the same router.

Any ideas?

Are you able to ping google from cmd?

Check that you have a good dns server in your network settings. 4.2.2.2 is a good one to test with

Check your IE lan settings and verify you dont have the proxy server setting enabled.

Check the basic shit first.

dns is the same as what is on my toshiba, proxy is not enabled.

Yes, I haven't found any that will work. I was able to do a windows update however.

Yeah, I reset and defaulted all explorer settings, no dice.

I installed mozilla firefox and while it doesn't have the "cannot display webpage" reply, the browser seems to be doing the same as explorer. Which is nothing. So apparently while I am connected to the internet, I can't get any browser to load it. Ugh.
