  • Router trouble shooting? DSL trouble shooting?

ATT DSL. Yeah, I know it sucks. Every few months the modem or router will have to be reset over and over. When I replace the router, it will work for 6+ months really solid and then I have to start resetting the modem and router. I have used D-Link in the past and currently I have a DIR-655 purchased 12-05-2010.

Is this normal? Is there a way to test the modem or router to see which is the problem (so far, it has always been the router because when it is replaced, the problem goes away for a long time)?

Yep call the rag heads in teir1 and ask them how to support your router with att's equipment. Or buy a motorolla 3347 from att and use the wifi and 4 port router it comes with.

My DIR655 started losing wireless connectivity. I could reset it and it would be OK for a few days. Of course it was over a year old when it started acting up. I replaced it with a Netgear 3700 and haven't had any issues since.

Good to know. Wireless is used more than direct connection.
