Weird XBOX 360 Problem??

Well ITs the first gen without hdmi. What it does is Ill put in a game and Ill only get to play it for about 5mins and it freezes. Weird thing is I can go to my video library and watch movies I have and it wont freeze. So Im thinking hey maybe its not fucking up anymore, so i put a game in and play it for about 5mins and the thing freezes!! Now why is this?

Can you hear the cooling fan coming on? If it's overheating, it'll most likely freeze up.
