shows six until either it goes to screen lock or leave the app (without shutting down the app) and when I go back to it, it shows none or one and few seconds goes back to 5-6

had the phone since april but noticed on runkeeper would sometimes take a while to get a signal in open area on a clear day, just thought it was because i kept gps off until needing to use it but my runkeeper maps show where it looses signal a lot lately

My first.Inspire did the same thing. Call att and have them send you a replacement. Mine, albeit a refurbished, works perfect.

Make sure they know.you're aware of this known.issue and that HTC knows too and is working in a correction for it.

I downloaded the GPS status and some things show up but whatever is under magnetic field just sits there and spins the loading icon. I also see no sat's on the radar.

You give up easy. Btw, the HTC rep lied to you. Is your phone in a case,if so, what kind? The GPS module is located under the rubber piece that surrounds the flash. It has two small wires that have a pressure sensitive connections. If you've dropped your phone or it's been severely jarred, they could have been knocked loose.

It could also be a defective GPS module(the case with my original inspire). I asked about the case because there's lots of info out there documenting the negative effects of certain cases on the functionality of the GPS on this device.

I was wondering about the case, I use the candy speck case so I took it out for this mornings run and it seems there was no signal lost. I guess I wont be getting an otterbox. I was planning on calling back but I really dont want a refurbished.
