Ok...got the "mini" installed. Lot more settings. Anything particular I need to change?
I went ahead and set "tx power" to 85.

good deal. the default settings on dd-wrt are already optimized. however, the first thing i do is bump up the default transmit power from 70mW to 90mW. Don't turn it up too high and it will cause transmit errors and perhaps cause it to run hot. It's a balance between increase signal strength getting an optimum SNR vs. avoiding transmission errors due to increased radio noise

One other thing I do is change the default ACK timing from 2000 meters to 200 meters for use in a standard home networking environment.

*Make sure you change the default user name and password. Make sure you enable some form of wireless encryption and not run an open network. WPA/WPA2 Personal is recommended, providing your other wireless devices support those encryption protocols. Otherwise, just use MAC filtering with 128bit WEP. The combination of both will adequately secure your home network.

If you run into any problems with Netflix video streaming or VoIP issues using this firmware, just let me know. I can tell you how to configure QoS to address these issues, if they arise.
