Just picked up the acer A500 tab. I'll give you guys a down low on it in a few days. Seems pretty sharp so far.

Quick first thoughts on the A500:
It's awesomely simple and easy to use, setup, etc...
It is a bit heavy, I could see the weight bothering some women. On the same note, the fact that it's heavy makes it feel very sturdy, so that's good.
The screen is beautiful and vivid, the sound is quite awesome surprisingly, it's very clear and loud, the touch screen is great and perfectly responsive.
Good wireless connections, bluetooth and wi-fi both.
Apps all seem to run smooth, games on this thing are pretty sweet. I had a game force close one time, but it restarted right back up.
I can't really comment on the battery life, it won't leave the house probably, and I assure you I won't sit on it for 8+ hours to test out the battery, idle it would probably last all day, usage probably 8-10 hours.
App store is lacking a bit so far, but the 3.0 android hasn't been out that long, so I can imagine it won't take long for them to come up with more.

I would definitely recommend it if you're in the market for a non-iOS tablet, and you can't beat the price AND THE FACT THAT PLACES ACTUALLY KEEP IT IN STOCK!

i agree, i like almost everything about it. i havent had time to organize a sync with music and movies yet but everything seems to work good. the battery life is better than my iphone, right at 8-10 hours. im currently working on wrapping mine right now for some customization (was going to hold up for 14 days incase i didnt like it but ehh im keeping it.).

my only complaint is that some web pages load as if they are on a phone, small and hard to use. but its very rare

keep in mind i wouldnt let my grandparents buy this tablet, i would recomend a ipad for them. this is for people who are not flustered easily when learning something new

kanetrain- did you notice a slight vibration when you touch the home button? its like a actuator vibration

I picked up a Dell Streak 7 a little while back. 7" screen, Dual-core, 16 gig internal (with a seperate SD-card slot), front and rear facing camera, dual speakers. The negatives would have to be the battery life, the screen resolution isn't the best on the market, and it's still waiting for 3.0. All three negatives don't even bother me and are easy to deal with.

It does vibrate, but, as far as I know, it's supposed to?? I think that I even turned that on(vibrate on touch, or whatever it's called) I'll pay attention to it tonight and see if it feels abnormal.

I did notice that some websites load the mobile application instead of full version, it is kind of annoying, I agree.

Yeah, I don't have much $, but I have like 2,000 respect points! I'm almost unbeatable on the online racing mode where you both drive the same car.

Ok- dolphin browser... I'll get it when I get home, thanks.

Got the nook color running with froyo and it's doing pretty well. Any good apps? Saw someone playing Mario Bros 3 on one the other day. Don't have the slightest clue where to get that. Hacked apps?
