I've had mine for 4+ years now and not a single RROD. If you go through 7-8, it's almost guaranteed user error...not the system.

A solid tip would be to keep it ventilated better. Clean out the dust everyone once in a while. Don't bury it in 20 layers of laundry then leave it on for two days.

I keep it in a very open spot and clean the dust almost once a month when i do all my electronics. Maybe just bad luck with 360's. So it can't be user error. It doesn't sit in a hole covered in dirt while i'm playing it.

The xbox is a drone tool? It's a videogame system. Couldn't you say that about any videogame system? You play games on a pc...great. I watch porn and get shit done on my pc. I don't like sitting 2 feet away from a screen when I'm playing videogames. Plus, an xbox is a lot cheaper than a computer that has the hardware to be able to play modern games like they should be played.

As much as I want to support your argument, since I have been a PC gamer for as long as I can remember - you're arguments are heavily flawed and out of touch for this thread.

Your knowledge of Mac products seems lacking too or at least their performance. There is several reasons that people who do not sell them for a living, but deal in NOTHING but technology (routers, switches, voice gear, firewalls, VDI, other unified communications, wireless) - use nothing but Macbook Pros for their daily duties. Daily duties being - demo'ing. Think 2-3 VMs plus Mac OSX running. Daily implementations/project work administering these systems and so on. As of now, the Macbook line of products destroys the competitors for this line of work. (unless you want to tote around a 20 pound laptop)

Personally, never touched a Mac product prior to a year ago. Never touching a PC/standard laptop again for work purposes, unless something really changes.

Windows is nice and PC gaming is great. However, remember - these days though consoles are basically PCs in a small cooled box. Their shelf life is a lot longer then a PC, so the ROI is much higher on them. Game developers only have to worry about SPECIFIC hardware. Not the thousands/millions of possible combinations out there for PC fans. (I believe the XB360 is an ATI GPU as well, which put them behind the game)

I still prefer to game on my PCs though as well. I think they should make a nifty little VM platform that overlays the OS for PC gaming developers.

Using what, a wireless keyboard and a mouse? Not exactly ideal for being on a couch, recliner, or bed while playing. Plus, how much did you spend on your gaming computer? My old roommate was up to about $600 to be able to run games kinda well. My xbox was $300 and works perfectly.

This is kinda why i don't do computer gaming. I don't know much about it but i always feel that right after you get the "best" video card, or whatever is the "best", next week there is another new "best". And you're back to spending a ton of money on it.
