    I think it comes down to pecking order. We, as men, have a natural desire to rank ourselves. How hot is your chick? How fast is your Mustang? How much do you bench press? I think the last 2 are geared towards "winning" the first question! Nicer car + big pecks = Hot chick, at least in our minds.

    A curvy woman with ample breasts = give birth to and feed healthy children at a base level.
    Big pecks = good protector
    Nice car = good provider

    Thus men focus on their pecs and how much they can bench press. Or...maybe I'm over thinking it?? LOL!

      Yeah I think you are...haha. I will say however that I do workout to be attractive...and not to some random dudes. So in a way it is for the ladies. I also workout for health, but that doesn't require the heavy lifting.

        I guess I'm just weird. I chose my car because it is what I liked (obviously, since no one else does, LOL). I lift for relieving stress and feeling better (obvious since I'm no max hog). And I just settled for a woman that didn't file a restraining order on me.

          I do chest on Mondays(like everyone else), but I feel that most people do chest on Mondays because they slack like hell on the weekends and they are making up for what they drank/ate all weekend and their lack of coming in the gym on the weekends.

            LOL...well, I was a shy kid, curious as to why we do what we do and why women do what they do. To know the "enemy", you must first know yourself...er some such BS. I'm on marriage number 3, so perhaps I didn't think enough the first 2 times, eh?!! 3rd time is the charm though! She drives a mustang, shoots a 9mm S&W, does P90X and NO, you can't see her wobbly bits!

              Which 5K you doing? The wife and I are participating in the one on Saturday in Frisco. Is there another one coming up? For a fatty like me, these 5Ks are good runs to train for on the way to 10Ks or just generally trying to run faster.

                Honestly not sure. We were supposed to run one in November, but Trisa got sick, so we missed it. I'll have to ask the Boss Lady...

                  Well, you also gotta remember that the chest and arms are easy to work out. If people only knew that legs are a main building block to the rest of the body, they would focus more on legs. Leg work outs suck too. I hate leg days and have to force myself to do them. I do try and throw in either leg presses or some dead lifts in every work out day and can say I've noticed an over all improvement.
