Most people start their week on Monday, and a lot of people don't even do legs. Most also follow the philosophy of biggest muscle group first, and that's the chest. Personally, I do my whole upper body both on Monday and on Friday with cardio Tues-Thurs and Sat. Calves and abs can be done daily.

I do chest on Monday, too and couldn't tell ya' why. Just do. I do agree with the fact that most peoples routines start on Monday, and what's the most common question when guys are asking about working out? "How much ya' bench?" For some reason the bench press seems to be the epitome of working out.
I do legs on Fridays because I don't wanna be walking like a gimp at work during the week."Any dog under 50lbs is a cat and cats are pointless." - Ron Swanson

As for me, I naturally have big legs so my cardio work (running, elyptical, playing sports, chasing my kids around the house, etc) is geared more towards weight loss, getting ready for a 5K and Warrior Dash...not so much how heavy I can squat or dead lift, but they stay fairly proportionate.

I guess I can understand the whole routine thing. It shows how much people favor upper body. Maybe I'll swap mine next time I revise workouts...I've done it before. I just was curious as to other peoples logic. For the 12 yeas I've been in a gym it's almost always been chest on Monday's.
