Thanks guy, Adam (ThreeFingerPete) loaned me his two 29ers, Mountain and Road, i'm gonna take both out around Campion Trail behind my apartment this week and see what I think.

I definately like the size of both bikes, and I know they can hold his big ass.

I rode that trail twice Saturday. I like that it has much less traffic than the other trails in the DFW area and is glass smooth.

both of Adam's bikes are 22-23 inchers, and the Mtn bike is a 29er with an adjustable front fork only.

I rode around his street and really like the feel of the 29er, so we'll see what I like in the next couple of weeks. Hell I may just buy his bike if I like it that much

Anthony - That sounds great man!! I am down for anything. I am used to putting in a lot of road miles on my mountain bike. It's very comfortable. Heck, on Friday night I did a Critical Mass ride with the folks here in El Paso and we did about 7.5 miles no problem.

I have also been known to do a 20 mile mixed road/mountain ride at times. I can usually do it in about 2 hours. I will be in Dallas from March 13th through the 19th. Anyone want to get something together, I am down!!

If you are looking for a bike in Dallas, I just heard Wheels in Motion on Greenville is going out of business. They are a Giant dealer and are going to clear out their entire inventory. They lost their lease. I'm sure it's one of those we are raising your rent issues due to the area. It's sad they are closing up shop, but someone might get a great deal out of it.

I may go see if they have any great cyclocross deals myself.

Rode about 5 miles down Campion Trail in Las Colinas yesterday on the 29er. Was definately nice to be able to ride in the grass when the sidewalk got packed. Gonna try to ride a little more this afternoon, but on the road bike today, to see the difference.

The wind was a little bitch last night tho. Made some work going back home on the trail.

But I had a good time, and didn't realize how far I had gone, until I got back.

I love both, but the speed side of me likes road cycling more. Nothing is better then bombing down a a hill at 35+ and riding with a group drafting.

On the other hand the trails are fun too. A tight challanging climb, or a dive into a river bed is fun too.

Know what you want, get sized and you can find good deals all day long on craigslist.

maybe the suspension on the ones I tried was not adjusted properly but it happened on a mongoose mountain bike and on a Trek hybrid. glad you found something that worked for you.

I hear ya. Ya Mongoose are o..k. And a Trek hybrid is meant to have a lot of bounce in the shock. They are made more for comfort riding. But thanks man.

I'm just glad I got disk brakes. You use them a LOT in mountain biking, i realized.

I think it's time for a trail ride gtg. Grapevine is a good all around trail for riders of all skills.

As stated above, I will be in town for spring break. I would love to have a gtg when I'm there as I will be bringing my bike with me.
