Ive got some 50 buck asics nothing fancy.

I need to buy a new pair soon.

These are not for running only, but around the weight room as well. I try and do a little running on the treadmill everyday.

I have and love my Nike lunar elites. They are really light and have a more rigid sole than the Nike frees. I like all of the lunar series for the most part.

Nike lunar series are by far the most comfortable running shoe I have ever owned. I have 3 pairs, I have also had a pair of Free's and they were lighter. The Free's are supposed to simulate barefoot running and take some getting used to. The only downside I have found to the lunars is when I was playing disc golf and the twisting motion from my drive took a chunk out of the front of the sole. The sole is foam so it is really better for running.

I'm sold on asics. My $80 asics are so much more comfortable than the $100+ Nikes I tried on. Sure, Nikes do look cooler, but it's not about looks in my opinion. I've seen more and more folks with those five toed shoe thingies, can't remember the names, but they swear by them. I'll probably try them next time I need some shoes.

Cheap running shoes tend to be lighter and flatter from heel to toe. You want cheap shoes... more expensive shoes have more cushioning. More cushioning is not necessarily a good thing.

Your worn out Asics are probably better than a new pair too.

You can find a lot of people that sell shoes and or orthotics that will insist differently though.

I've had my best experiences with Asics and New Balance. I'm about to have to purchase a new pair, as I've picked up my running more than ever.

Inov8s are awesome if you can find them.

I'd agree 100%. What sold me on asics were a pair that I picked up for $40 at Kohls and don't even know how many miles I put on them and they held up better than any shoe I've ever had.

Important thing here is that the same shoe doesn't work for everyone. It depends on your foot and running cycle. Go get your stride and gait cycle analyzed.

In my opinion...vibram five fingers are stupid. I've only seen idiots and dbags in them. But that's just MY opinion.

After I tried on my first pair of Asics, I was SOLD!!! I've worn out a few pair over the past 6-7yrs.

of course no shoe manufacturer will leave well enough alone and just keep making the same shoe for years and years, so the last time I went and tried on running shoes, I ended up in a pair of Mizunos. This shoe just fit my foot the best.

Your best bet is always to just go try on a bunch of shoes and pick whichever fits/feels best... They're all fucking ugly as balls anymore, so just go for comfort.

I don't run, but I like the light weight and breathing ability of running shoes

Ive used Asics for years, they are always a good choice especially if you have wider/ flat feet. I got the Nike Frees recently as well, and Ive never been a fan of nike whatsoever but I like these shoes

The best running shoes are the ones you don't even know you are wearing. If they are bothering you in any way and you have any aches or pains, you are likely in the wrong shoe for you.

I've spent a lot of money on the wrong shoes thanks to advice from shoe stores. Listen to your body. Form and the right shoes are all you need to run as often and as long as you like.

If your current shoe is working fine, then buy a new pair of them.
