A cold season update:
Still dealing with the back pain. My bike sits in the spare room and I get depressed each time I look at it. Wondering if I will get back to a condition where I can ride again.
The pain is worse now than it has ever been, even before I had surgery. Hopefully I don't end up needing an additional surgery.Originally posted by LeahBest balls I've had in my mouth in a while.

I thought, a couple of times now, that cycling was going to be my saving grace.
I have an epidural injection on Wednesday. Hopefully, if they can get the insurance sorted out by then. Then a follow up the end of the month. I plan to start 2016 with a new MRI and a second opinion from a different specialist. Hopefully finding a better path to an active, pain free life

Tom said he had to do a lot of core strength and conditioning as well as really learn to get his bike fit right to get beyond the back pain. He also mentioned that at one point he really needed to stretch and get warmed up before riding too in order to avoid back pains.

The primary goal right now is to get to a point where I can actually do any kind of exercise. Right now, just walking during the day doing my job effs me up.
I had my injection last wednesday it seemed to get me some relief, though not near what I was hoping for. I saw my chiropractor this morning and will start a regular visit with him weekly.
I had to order parts for the inversion table I bought, once those come in I will be incorporating that into my daily routine as well.
I haven't given up on cycling. I will be having a VERY candid conversation with my doc when I go for my follow up on the 30th.

Upgrade my old bike, lets see how much faster the new one is.
This most recent issue is at L5, at least that is where my injection was. It offered some relief. So far seeing my chiropractor has offered the most relief. I am optimistic that I will be back in the gym and on my trainer by the end of January.
