How about the idiots that wear flipflops or some type of sandal. Seems they want their toes cut off.

And people bringing their kids. Good idea!

Yes these are a violation of the rules but they do it anyway.

Yup. They sold me on minimalist shoes. Pretty much stick to inov-8's now.

        Things that annoy me:
People who don't put their weights back.
People who have a dumbell shrine where they are working for what looks like 10 drop sets.
People half repping too heavy of a weight just to get attention.
Catching people staring via mirror because they have no real clue what they are doing, but won't nut up and ask for advice.
And the absolute biggest thing is when people don't pay attention to their surroundings. I've been under load on incline and have had dipshits bump into my arm/elbow to the point of damn near tearing my rotator to keep from dropping a 100# db on their foot.

Man. Any of you guys ever consider putting in a home gym? After this thread I'm liking mine more and more. You can get all the core workouts in one reasonably sized room. I got a good squat rack, quality bench press, all the dumbells, a rack for those, a rack for the olympic weights, an area for deadlift, and a pull up bar.

Am I missing anything? Just increasing the weight should be able to net me more and more size, at least that's the plan. As opposed to having a whole gym at my disposal. And I think that I've got all the muscles covered. You can do arms and shoulders with dumbells, and squats will cover the legs and butt cheeks. lol

For lats, the pull up bar. Have to hold weights between the feet in order to increase weight. No room for one of those pull down machines. Chest of course the bench press. For traps, take some weight off the deadlift and use that. Its all pretty basic, but I'm thinking it will get the job done. Thoughts?

(none of this is finished, I just have most of the equipment in there. still have small things to do like hang the pull up bar)

Home gyms are awesome. I go to a pretty small, damn near secret gym here in austin that has all most pretty much everything my old crossfit box had at a fourth the cost. The staff is really cool so I don't mind paying $40/month for a gym that's not very busy and has everything I need.

[QUOTE=jdgregory84;1439791]I had some vibrams for a bit. I gotta admit, they were comfortable as hell. Way more than I thought they'd be./QUOTE]
Much rather have someone wear that than have their feet or socks full of scurv being smeared all over the platform.

Drop it on their foot! Some people will only learn the hard/painful way. And it should keep them out of the gym for a while.

I used to have a really nice setup at home and enjoyed it but I went back to the gym.
There really is nothing like it...as I've met lots of good people there and accomplished much more than I ever could at home.
                    Plus...I priced the 150lb dumbbells...naaa thanks LOL

I'm def a drencher, but I am also courteous to others and always wipe it off afterwards, but yaaaa...I do create swimming pools.

Sweating is the game. Leaving it behind is a dick move.

I have met some awesome people in the gym. Even for someone who's asocial like me most of the time, the gym can be a great place for people. However, given the long list of cons that this thread has, I just can't do it anymore. Everything in here is something that has bothered me at one point or another. Best to just not have to put up with any of that stuff.

Craigslist! Got all my equipment at about half price. The squat rack is heavy duty but I did have to sand it down and repaint it due to old age. Came out of some high school somewhere. Most of the rest of the stuff was practically brand new, bought by what seemed to be people who never really had any intention of using it.
