Crossfit will never be an Olympic sport and it will be gone in 10 years. I guarantee all the other athletes will have the last laugh. Crossfit is just the latest Tae Bo in a long list of Tae Bo. Do you all have secret prayer meetings where you kneel before Jane Fonda in her stripped tights and say Hail to Aerobics? Crossfit is from the same lineage. The biggest difference between Crossfit, P90X or Insanity is well.... nothing.

You can get a better workout by joining any competitive football team and doing their "offseason" program. It's also a lot cheaper. Heck you can get all of these awesome "secrets of the pro's" for free thanks to your library and the internet too.

No, and I think you know better than that. CF certainly doesn't need me to defend it. It speaks for itself.

But it's crossfit that told "everybody," your words, how to properly do a tire flip? That's a pretty bold statement. Maybe that it taught people that didn't know how to do it that does crossfit how to do it properly. The same people who probably didn't really know how to excercise properly at all.

I have nothing against crossfit like some of the peeps here do. You just came off as an elitist. I'm sure coaching classes is a fun job and getting to see people change their lives has to be pretty rewarding.

Ok, I can see where I came off that way. What I meant to convey is the way in which it is applied. For instance. Flipping a tire in and of itself can be a workout, but you maximize your benefits if you couple it with say, pullups, or maybe double unders. A set would go like this:

21-15-9 Tire Flips, Pullups no rest in between and for time.

Most of the people that hate on CF just don't have experience with it. Frankly, it's easier (and cheaper if at a CF gym) to hop on a bike than it is to deadlift 3 sets of 225lbs 21 times and run 400 meters for time between each round, but that is a CF workout.

You get your strength and metabolic conditioning. I have seen people that can bench press houses that are trying to breathe after doing "Fran" for 7 minutes. There is a reason that it is exploding with Law Enforcement, Fire, and military. It's functional.

Anyway, I should have explained further. Apologies.

In the name of science how about putting crossfit up against amateur athletes? I have a specific challenge and date in mind.... You're allowed to crossfit all you want, but no training for this specific event. You go and compete against people that are training for the specific event. You see how you stack up at the end.

I'm thinking crossfit is just a fad like P90X, Insanity, Tae Bo or any other video Tony Horton happens to be selling.

You are missing the entire point of CF. Anyone that trains specifically SHOULD be better at that sport. If someone who does CF trains in that sport, they will be better by nature.

CF is an overall system of intense physical health. It was done thousands of years before Glassman called it CF.

IF you want to specialize in OLY lifts and snatch 400lbs, well then do it. But somewhere else you are cheating yourself of what you could be. (health speaking)

How in the fuck did a simple question of where to get a tractor tire turn into a crossfit challenge. All you idiots that don't like crossfit, don't worry about doing it. I'm not begging you guys to complete a crossfit workout. Bunch of fucking morons, If I need to change the thread title to get a fucking answer then that can be done.

First of all, you sound like a goddamned moron. Have you actually tried P90X or Insanity? Get through one Insanity workout, or the P90X plyometrics workout. The workouts are uncut. Just watch one, and see the amount of sweat that those guys soak their shirts with. Yes, athletes have great workouts. Why? Because they're being coached. You keep telling him to go join an amatuer team...........why don't you? As far as I'm concerned, you're a nobody, and for some reason you seem to think that you're a somebody. Give somebody else a reason to think the same.

My grandpa might have a tractor tire if you don't mind driving to Cranfills Gap (population < 400) to get it. Just watch out for scorpions. I remember moving one, and when I was rolling it, there was a big fucking scorpion on it. Scared the shit out of me.

Just to add. Lots of high schools have them and the just rot. Wouldn't hurt to ask to take one off their hands.

Yep, I'm a nobody, so are you up for the challenge? Care to put your crossfitness up in a race? I pick the race? Remember, you're not allowed to train for the race just do crossfit, P90X or Insanity or all 3.

It's in the name of science after all. I'm a fat nobody, and I don't have a problem with it. You're clearly the one with the ego problem though. So do we have a challenge yet?

Did I say that I do crossfit? I guess that I forgot when you became the fitness god of America. I guess when that Jack Lulane guy died. I'm not in shape by any means. I'm just telling you to put your money where your mouth is. If joining an amatuer sports team is the end all of workouts, then why don't you do it instead of telling somebody how working out a certain way is stupid?

You're the guy that posted about the triathalon if I remember right. So you run, bike, and swim...neat-o. Play real sports. Stop trying to be the best at exercising. (That's a joke by the way.)

Try this. Jump. I'm saying go into a squat position, and jump constantly for 45 minutes. That's essentially what a plyometric workout is. There's no "fad" about it. P90X doesn't try and bowflex you with, working out an hour a week will change your appearance. It's one hour a day, 7 days a week, and there are very few and very short resting periods. Seriously, try it out. Hell, try out insanity. I guarantee you that it will help your performance in a triathalon. Find a place that'll host a 8 gig file and I'll upload it for you so you're not out any money.

So do either of you want to race? Last time I checked, swimming, running and cycling were considered Olympic sports.

Or are you both just going to foam at the mouth like two idiots?

Want to talk about the same old things..... are we gonna race? You've got your chance to put up or shut up. So step up if P90X, crossfit and Insanity are so bad ass. Surely you can whip me good at any race I pick due to your superior fitness.

Or maybe, you'll just continue to make personal attacks instead.

I've been on amateur sports teams. You can get a better work out than any of those program by joining BUDS, and you can get paid to do it too.

There is nothing new or groundbreaking in any of these programs. There is however a lot of frothing at the mouth from the idiot followers of each of these programs.
