Everyone who says they dont do better when someone is pushing them on is lying.

That looks like a good atmosphere although spendy.

I'd give alot to have a partner with the same goals or atleast the same attitude.

i found one here in downtown dallas, i emailed them to see how much it would cost, i figure 3 times a week for 130-150 only comes out to like 12 dollars each workout, if they can really get me in shape its worth it to me

I agree that there's benefit to the group as pect of things...but why is crossfit so much? It looks like the gyms ate typically smaller and have less equipment. Does a group trainer really cost an extra 100/mo? Or is there alot more I'm not seeing?

In my eyes, group workouts are for people that don't have self will, dedication, discipline, or drive.
They rely upon others for motivation(which might be good for some, just not for me).

Not to mention the crazy price...

The goal of anyone going to the gym is to aquire an overall better health. Wether that be more muscle, to get lean, more endurance, better strength or agility.

Just as long as you get it done and work to improve yourself.

Let's not turn this into a critique thread. Keep it positive and motivating fellas.

Looks like a good program, just expensive.

One of the reasons that it's priced like that because it's more comparable to personal training than going to the gym. The people who run the classes are crossfit certified instructors who have put in work to get where they are. It's not like a gym where they pay a kid fresh out of high school to watch the door for $10 am hour. At the affiliate that I go to, one of the trainers is a 2 time olympic lifter. You don't get that experience with a free Zumba class at 24 hour fitness.

I think another reason that it's priced like that is because it's not for everyone. Crossfit isn't able to sign up 1000 people and then pass the savings on to the people in the class. The place I go has 5 class's a day and I don't think any of them hit twenty people. For the sake of argument we'll say they all do. That's (20x5)x135=13500. They use that money to pay 4 peoples salaries, the rent, and the electricity etc... Really not the glamorous life.

That being said, it's possibly the hardest workout you'll ever experience. My recommendation is that if you do try it, start on a Friday so you have the weekend to recover before classes start again.

I'd say there were probably 25-30 at the Saturday session. It was also a benchmark day so that could be why, the 630 session during the week. I'd say about 10 of us.

My wifes brother opened one about a year ago and I finally bit the bullet last week. Damn! I haven't done much in 12 years and just lifting then. I started lifting about a month ago to get ready, ha. That shit does not look that hard but it is a sob. The warm up is a workout. The classes I go to there have been maby 10 people in each, 4:45 pm. I'm 5'9 and was up to 209 and after eating right for 3 weeks and the weed and a half of crossfit I am down to 194 today. My goal is 180, haven't been there in about 15 years(I'm 43). My brother in law is 46 and went from 215 to 170 in the last year and I think he is the #1 guy in the southwest in the crossfit (games?), Cliff Lewis. http://games.crossfit.com/athletes/c...?score=overall

I started going through the WOD's about 3 weeks ago. I didn't think it would be that difficult, but HOLY SHIT it's brutal.

We run a 6:30, 7:30, and a 5, 6, and 7 pm. It really is catching on with the Fire and Military.

As far as the prices mentioned above...we really don't make beans. Enough to keep the lights on and upgrade equipment, for right now anyway. Our prices break down to about $8.33 per class.
