  • Bloodwork Results

I did a wellness assessment at my job yesterday to get a discount on my health insurance. I'm very pleased with my results from my bloodwork. I had forgotten the date of the exam and I had coffee that morning and a small yogurt for breakfast but I don't think they had much of an impact.

    Total cholesterol .169
    HDL 38
    Triglycerides 115
    LDL 108
    non-HDL 131
    TC/HDL Ratio 4.4
    Glucose 89

My blood pressure at the time of the exam was crazy 148/102!
Today it was taken before I took the Oxy Elite and it was 120/77

I've dropped from a 40" to a 36" and said goodbye to nearly 30lbs. I'm still fat but a noticable amount less then when I started 8 weeks ago. My BMI is 34.7 and 30.1, I wish I would have gotten a baseline to compare to. It's nice to see some real gains and sucks to know I let myself go so badly. I've turned it around though and have my friends to help keep me motivated. And I gotta give credit to Oxy Elite Pro for being an awesome product. I'm finishing my bottle today and I'll be ordering another bottle or two of the pre ban formula soon.

    Excellent

About three weeks ago my own results were:

    LDL 84
HDL 71 (highest and best ever)
Triglycerides 60 (approximate going from memory)
    Glucose 97 (relatively high)
    A1C 5.5

All through dietary changes, including fish oil supplements, and weight loss over the past year and a half.

That HDL is awesome! I can't wait to keep this up another month and see if I can increase my HDL another 10 points or so. Everything I read says the easiest way is to add orange juice but I rarely eat fruit now.

How do you function on oxy elite? I took a sample for fun and thought I was on party drugs.

            I hear ya'
The first few days were like that then I got a little used to it. Today is my first day without any coffee or the oxy elite. I'm gonna stay away from it for 2 weeks or maybe even a month and do another month on it.

I'm actually looking into getting a prescription for Provigil and test pellets. I'm pretty focused on my health now and want to do all I can before the difficult months get here and be able to have the results I want by spring.

I think that the recent addition of coconut oil to my diet is behind my HDL improvement, which at best had been running between 40-50. I add a couple of teaspoons of it to the black coffee I have daily. The GNC brand is my preferred source; it is unrefined so it retains some of the coconut flavor but refined oil is also readily available in grocery stores that has very little coconut flavor. One thing about it is it's fairly high in calories, like olive oil, but I don't count calories anyway.

Ha, I've been drinking Bulletproof coffee for the past several months but I was concerned that it was too much fat and calories for me. So I just drank the coffee black but I was originally adding a teaspoon each of coconut oil and grass-fed organic butter. Maybe I'll switch back since I'm not taking the Oxy Elite for a few weeks.

I've been meaning to try adding the butter to it to make it bulletproof but haven't done so yet. I probably already average about a tablespoon of butter a day with other foods.

I had more blood work done on Friday to see if I had low testosterone. I found out that isn't the case. Looks like I may have to find a place that is more liberal on their interpretation of my levels.

I may have to try the coconut oil. My HDL's have never been above 28. My total Cholesterol last blood test was 160. I have battled with Cholesterol and Triglyceride issue for 10 years. I have been on 5 different statins and after 10 years of muscle/joint/memory issues and lots of online research I decided it might be the statins. I decided to quit the statins and try to manage it naturally. My diet was crap I so got serious about my eating habits when I quit the statins about 10 months ago. I dropped about 35lbs in 3 months down to 180lbs with diet change only and really no exercise. Within about a month I really started having reduced joint and muscle pain. After 10 months I feel better than I have in at least 10 years. Even my chronic bad back (2 herniated discs) hasn't given me issues in months. I am eating healthier than I ever have have in my 44 years. After the blood test results above I decided I had to join a gym. I have been going at least 5 times a week for the last 2.5 months. I initially dropped another 10 lbs. and was down to about 170 but I have added some good muscle and I am back to around 178. I have another blood test coming up in a month so I hope the gym time will make a big difference.

The men on my mom's side of the family have had horrible issues with heart disease and cholesterol. I regret not taking it more seriously. I recently had a calcium scoring done on my heart to see what kind of buildup I had in my arteries. Unfortunately I scored in the 100 percentile for my age group. So my cardiologist sent me for a stress test. I do have about 45% blockage in only one artery but he says it doesn't seem to be affecting my heart negatively just yet. So my cardiologist says I have to be on some type of cholesterol meds because it is genetic in my family and nothing I can do naturally to get the numbers where they need to be. I did recently try a newer statin and in the 20 days on the meds all my aches came back, I had to reduce most of my weight training exercises by 20%, and my cardio workout tanked. I just generally felt like and feeble old man again. Within a week of being back off them things started to improve dramatically once again. So I either figure out better ways to control it naturally, take a statin and feel like crap all the time, or just do nothing.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you tried taking niacin in place of a statin?

Yes, on several different occasions and varying doses. Raised the dose high enough that I started having the flushing/hot spells and had to drop the dose slightly. My HDL's improved 2 at best and LDL's did not change.

I am fretting my annual physical in 10 days. I had to get a waiver last year when I found out my LDL/HDL and triglycerides were way to high. My diet has been shit out here though. I eat as much fish instead of red meat as possible. But eating complete balanced meals is not my strong suit here. I do have one serving of oatmeal everyday and take my two 1290mg fish oils pills plus my Crestor religiously though. The next 10 days I am pounding oatmeal and probably oatmeal only. If I fail this physical it could cost me my overseas exemption on my taxes and cost me a boat load of money.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Try to find some Kombucha, it certainly couldn't hurt
