  • Abdominal routines?

What kind of routines do you have for abs?
    Type of exercise?
    Reps?
    Sets or duration?

I'm getting back in shape, losing weight and I'm about to the point where it's time to throw some ab exercises into the mix. What does everyone here do?
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

I'll tell you the same thing that I told Bert, your main focus right now should be on diet and cardio. If you have 20 minutes to devote to abs, then you need to do 20 minutes of cardio, strong abs won't show through a layer of fat.

There's the saying that "abs are created in the kitchen, not in the gym," and the saying is oh so true.

If you've got all that in check, then I would start with the basics, crunches and leg lifts.

Fat hides abs. That being said, resistance training burns more fat than cardio. Not to say that you shouldn't do both but focusing mainly on cardio will slow down results.

Truth. And my experience is, there is no better ab exercise than GHD sit ups. There are tons of vids on youtube.

you should get the bulk of your able work from heavy compound movements. squats, presses, rows, etc. you could add heavy cable crunches at the end of a workout. crunches are worthless. unless your 10%+/- bodyfat you won't see your abs anyway.
