  • How many protein shakes a day?

I'm now getting back into the weight room since my Porsche accident on thanksgiving. I'm really pleased that I'm lifting almost the same weight that I was when I stopped after the accident. Usually I drink my syntha 6 protein shake after I workout. Should I also be drinking it in the morning too? I didnt know if I would benifit from drinking more than one protein shake a day. I also eat a lot of chicken and eggs cause I know I shouldn't just rely on the shake for my protein needs.

It depends on your goals, and how much protein you get from your diet. Assuming that you are looking to build muscle, I'd target .85-1 gram per lb of bodyweight. Protein is hard on the liver, so there's no need to over do it.

I personally put one heaping scoop in my oatmeal in the morning, and will add in a post-workout shake once my strength finally plateaus. You're right on for eating eggs and chicken, natural protein is preferred, as long as you keep fat down.

It really just depends on your training and overall nutrition consumption.
I'd recommend about 1-1.5 grams per lb of bodyweight though.

I take 2 a day. One after I lift and one more about 4 hours later. I do my best to get the majority of my protein from food.

1 immediately in the morning and 1 within 30 minutes if the completion of your workout. These are the the times when your body is the most anabolic.
