I've been missing the elliptical at my apartment gym since buying my house a few months ago and have definitely gained a few pounds in the interim. I'm sure the holidays did not help. Looking to purchase one, and just seeing if there are any great brands or brands to steer clear of that you guys have experience with. Budget.. $400ish?

lol, I'll actually use it. It's one of the few exercises I don't mind. Besides, I made a deal with myself that once I get to my target weight, I'm buying a big ol saltwater hot tub.

I can't really explain the part I am talking about without rambling like a retard but don't get one with the "tracks" like this:
Get one that is connected like this:
On the home models example 1 once they get worn they start to get loose and the wheels will fall off the tracks.
Aside from that everyone's stride is a bit different so find something that feels comfortable.Last edited by Shorty; 01-08-2013, 09:47 PM.

I've got one I was about to list on CL if you're still looking. I was going to ask 150$ for it, has a little use and pretty dusty http://www.walmart.com/ip/Gold-s-Gym...ptical/7789777

Have a good pair of running shoes, but I have to do low impact workouts due to my back. Plus I prefer the privacy of my home any way.

I hear ya on privacy, but I did cardio during peak gym hours last night for the first time in a while, and I must say thank God for spandex.
