I commend you. Diet is 80% my problem.
    For example tonights wod is

    3 Rounds for Time:
    500m Row
    Rd. 1: 50 Pull-ups
    Rd. 2: 50 Box Jumps (24/20)
    Rd. 3: 50 Thrusters (45/33)
    -Rest 2:00 after each round-

(that 2 min rest is weird, never seen that)

And I already plan to fuck up a ribeye at Texas roadhouse, with 2-3 margaritas.
Although I have really cleaned up my diet in the last 3 months, tons of chicken or fish and rice.

My gym gave me a free card to go to some place and get my BF% measured. This thread makes me want to.

Tequila is paleo. Actually pretty much all liquor is because even though most is derived from grains, since the alcohol is evaporated in the distilling process, it doesn't have all the gluten and shit like that in it.

Wine is also paleo. The dryer the better.

Whiskey with tonic water and lime is actually pretty good and is 100% paleo.

Is there a good paleo site that has a comprehensive list of do's/don't's?

Ehhhh alcohol is a super gray area for paleo lol. I personally am with the Red Wine and Tequila crowd. If you like a stout drink then two shots tequila, one juice of lime on ice with a splash of tonic is good. If you have a sweet tooth using pineapple/orange/lime juice (fresh not store bought) mades a decent margarita.

Sean88gt: There really isnt one main site that I am aware of. You should read "The Paleo Solution" by robb wolfe though, it really ties a lot of the puzzle pieces together and he makes it interesting, its a really great book. A couple sites for recipes and info that I use are:

also if you are an instagram user just search #paleo or similar hashtags and you can follow people that post up meal ideas, recipes etc; I actually use this method quite a bit.

If Robb Wolf says it's Paleo, I'm gonna assume it's Paleo. He did a two hour podcast with Joe Rogan that was pretty cool.

There is no gray about it, alcohol has absolutely no nutritional value. The negative effects on testosterone production and metabolism/insulin production alone are reaon enough to steer clear.

Contrary to popular belief, alcohol doesn't matabolize into "harmless" sugar, that can be burned for energy and replenish ATP stores. It is broken down into a cousin of formaldehyde, which is why I say that it has no nutritional value.

Sure, you can drink in moderation and still lose weight, as long as you keep your calorie count in check, but just realize that you do so at a cost.

OP, being that you're concerned with what's in your shakes, you should also be aware of what's in your drinks.

Good to hear about the booze. I'm a Vodka and Tonic guy (mainly diet tonic lately).
I checked that coupon for my gym, and it's got 2 sessions in a "pod" for $50. Seems like a legit way to get your BF%.

I wouldnt mind getting a base line, and then doing a mini three week diet and getting the follow up pod. I would cave before 90 days. I just cant cook all that stuff, although that coconut chicken looked dynamite.

Hanging in there pretty well actually. I lost a few pounds almost immediately, body fat according to the device I used to start with is showing 19.0, holding steady at 191 pounds from 193. I got as light as 188 again but adding muscle mass now.

I am just getting started with the Paleo diet. Can any of you who have been doing it a while give some snack recommendations, at home and on the go?

Though not the Paleo diet, I've done Atkins for about the last 10 months with good results and the foods recommended in both are probably very similar. For snacks I go with nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans, Brazil nuts), raw vegetables, olives, and some fruits (canteloupe, strawberries). Jerky, with no sugar added, is also good.

I love milk, milk loves me so that will be tough. Just so happens I'll be going to Cabo in 10 days after the challenge is up so that makes it even easier mentally.

Today was the official weigh in/ measure day.

                                My results (starting)
                                Height 6 ft
                                Age 32

                                Body Weight 193 pounds
                                Muscle Mass 41.6 percent
                                Body Fat 20.01 percent
                                Hydration 58 percent
                                Bone Mass 4.5

I wanna try and be at 15% body fat and be at 47% muscle mass. I don't know how feasible or realistic of a goal that is for 90 days but that's my goal. Feel free to comment and let me know. Wish me luck!
so how is this whole "Paleo" thing working for you?
