You were "working" with 190lbs? What does that mean?

An injury that early should have minimal impact on workouts years later. Our bodies heal a lot better when we're kids VS when we're adults. If it's getting sore quicker than the other shoulder, just lighten the weight.

Definitely gonna need more info though.

Strength isn't going to alleviate that, and pushing heavier weights will likely just make it worse.

I'm by no means a doctor though, so I suggest that you consult a physician.

Most likely the grit you are feeling is scar tissue from the previous injury that has built up. You need to go see a physician to take care of the problem.

Have you just started lifting? If so, focus on stretching, flexibility & range of motion before worrying about how much weight you're moving. Ease into it.

I have problems with both of my shoulders. If I do too much weight over my head with my arms extended straight up they try to dislocate, but I don't get any gritty feelings in them. I've dislocated my right arm 10-15 times and my left arm 5-10 times. Hurts like a bitch every time, but i've always been able to reset them myself and after 30 mins or so they are fine. Should probably go to a dr. and have surgery to repair whatever is wrong, but i figure it's easier and cheaper to deal with it and avoid lifting heavy weight over my head than to spend weeks-months recovering...
