The only other thing I'd change would be your post-workout meal. I'd recommend switching in a "weight gainer" instead of just protein. You need the carbs to replenish your glycogen stores, protein is the building block, but carbs are the bricklayer and mortar. Anothet trick I picked up is to eat a tablespoon of natural honey just before that shake. This will spike your insulin, and open up the floodgates into your muscle cells so to speak. Other than being tasty the result are pretty much imperceptable, but every little trick helps.

Beyond that I'd still suggest to actually tally up your calorie count, you don't know what you don't know. You are spinning your wheels if you truly aren't eating enough, and that 315lb bench won't happen on heavy lifting alone.

Thank you, sir. I'll give that a try in the mornings. I used to put peanut butter in my oatmeal, so i'll try adding in some protein too.

And that's why i don't usually worry about what i eat after i workout, i figured i could use the carbs at that point. I'll start looking at weight gainers too.

Today on the other hand, i should easily be in the 3500 range. Thanks to a Jack in the Box lunch. Got an Ultimate Cheeseburger w/bacon, large curly fry and a large dr. pepper(usally don't drink soft drinks) and looked it up when i got back to lunch. Holy hell that meal is just under 2000 calories lmao

Consider that a blessing of sorts, I get fatter just looking at a fast food menu. On the other hand, I'll be benching 315 again well before November, hopefully with single-digit bodyfat.

<-- went from benching 135 for 8 to 225 for 8 in 2 months, while losing 3 inches in my waist. Muscle memory is better than steroids! lol

You're still stronger at the moment, but I'm comin' for ya, better not be slacking... (a little innernet competition never hurts for motivation)

LMAO, no it doesn't hurt at all. But you'll be passing me before too long though. But i least i got you and my brother keeping me going. Plus we got a buddy that we worked out with back in 2010 that's about to start back up with us again. So that'll be my motivation, not letting him pass me by

Sweet, last night i tried going heavy again on biceps and did so with little or no pain. First time i have enjoyed arm day in awhile.

Guess i'm going to shoot for 3,000 calories a day, which apparently isn't going to be as easy as i thought it was. Yesterday i took in a little under 2,800 calories and 227g of protein. Protein number sounded high until i did the math on 1.5g per pound and then i'm way under lol

This would be a little easier if i had a number weight to shoot for, but i don't. I just want to pack on as much muscle as i can until summer time.

Keep your calories as clean, and as high as you can, and I wouldn't be set on that 3k number. Keep ane eye on the scale, and the mirror, as long as bodyweight is going up, and fat isn't, you're doing good. If you are truly set on adding mass, then be less concerned with bodyfat, as adding a little means that you certainly arent shorting yourself on calories. If you see fat rising faster than you'd like, then cut back 500 calories or so for a few weeks.

Also, eating late, even right before bed, isn't a bad thing in your case. The pros are even known to set an alarm, and have a meal in the middle of the night. I wouldn't necessarily go that far, sleep is important for growth, and you won't be taking any mid-day naps, but a low-fat meal right before bed will make sure that you don't deplete everything during the 6-8 hour fast.

Good point. The numbers on the scale haven't changed a whole lot, so hopefully that means i'm losing some fat. I guess since i see myself every day, i really can't tell that much of a change in me looking in the mirror. Even though some jeans i have noticed are starting to fit better. Plus our friend that started yesterday working out with us(that i haven't seen in a couple of months) said it looked lilke i had lost some weight. I'll take it

What would you suggest eating late at night? Drink another shake or actual food?
