Define regular. The idea behind paleo is you're eating the food that your body has evolved to utilize best. In theory, it is more "regular" than what you're calling "regular".

Congrats on the progress 89gt stanger. I've always been curious about this diet considering I like a lot of meat. Unfortunately I also enjoy pizza on the weekends

89GT, thats awesome man keep it up! I'm on day 44 of the Lurong Paleo Challenge and I feel great. I want to say that day 7 is where I really started feeling different. Still a couple more weeks to go on the comp, but I plan on staying paleo/primal during the week once its all said and done. I've lost a lot of weight and my workout performance has increased a lot.
I appreciate it! Sounds like you've been pretty successful! Do you drink milk at all, btw?

Thank ya sir. Shouldn't be an issue, just make Saturday your cheat day and chow down on some carbs!

No not currently, but I will once the competition is over. Dairy is actually considered "primal" not "paleo." I have been drinking almond milk, which is actually really really good I was pleasantly surprised (original, unsweetened). If you havent gotten any yet you should check it out.

              Toast and hummus for breakfast
              Fruit for snack
              Salad and fish for lunch
              Fruit or veggies for snack
Something veggies and fish or chicken for dinner
Veggies or almonds for late night snack.

I'm not saying the paleo thing isn't good for you, I don't know shit about it. However, a little common sense in your diet seems like a whole lot less work than worrying about every specific type of food you can have.

Thanks for the heads up! Black coffee is getting really disgusting, so I'll try some almond milk in it.

All good choices above in my opinion.

I simply started reading labels 7-8 months ago and avoid items that have more than 5-6 net carbs or have added sugar. That leaves out most of the easy-to-prepare items in the center of most grocery stores, and sends me to the perimeter of the store to buy most of things I'm after.

This is about as in depth as I get with my diet.

                    Works for me.

That's not a far cry from paleo, depending on quantity. Only thing really non-paleo is the toast.

The broad idea behind paleo is that you only eat things that would have been readily available for you to digest "in the wild". Oat/wheat is one of the big, over processed foods that paleo tries to avoid.

I believe in paleo to a point.
I still consume plenty of carbs including breads, pastas, both wheat and white, but I do keep them somewhat overall minimized in the grand scheme of my consumption.

Honey is also considered paleo, before the competition i used to use regular milk and honey in my coffee

                            Best plan.

Fast food & sodas are the killer. I'm no gym genius, but if I even have 1 fast food meal, I feel like crap and can't lift as much or workout as long.
Lots of eggs in the morning (8 or so for me, but I'm not a big guy), a decent lunch w/ meat & some fruit and/or veggies, and a dinner with a lot of protein (usually).

That's my wanna-be meal set up, it makes me feel good all day and allows me to keep operating 100% after working out in the evening.
