  • The Paleo Diet works! (cardio update, did the 2-2-2)

So far, I've been on this diet for a bit over 2 weeks. Through the diet and my usual cardio, I have shed 8lbs thus far, eating the following:

    96% beef (thanks to hinez57)
    Turkey
    Almonds and walnuts
    A lot of spinach
    Other vegetables
    Minimal amounts of fruit
    and a ton of water,
    Oh, and straight black coffee

That's it. No milk, no butter, no proccessed carbs etc, except for the two cheat days I've had. I have some colon issues similar to IBS, and this diet has made my symptoms almost non-existant. Feeling much better in the gut, and shitting is definitely more regular than usual. I would highly reccomend this diet to anyone who wants to shed some lbs and still be able to eat great food. On a side note, pushups and situps are easier; my 2-mile time has been cut down to 15:30 from almost 19 mins through hard cardio. Took the 2-2-2 Tuesday amd recieved a promotion!!

The favorite food so far is rib-eye slighty seared on both sides to get rid of any possible parasites, blue rare.

Why no read? He said minimal fruit. Pale doesn't call for a lot of fruit.

Well I know what it said, but minimal to me means none, I love fruit. So I'm asking what the benefit of minimal fruit is?

Paleo doesn't even call for minimal fruit. In fact it argues that fruit is a good carb source, but does express moderation and differentiates between fruits.

Too much fruit defeats the concept of Paleo.

No fruit because it's an extreme low carb diet.

Fruit has a lot of sugar. It may not be processed, but it is carb rich. I dont really like fruit in the morning, and since I dont lift super heavy in the afternoon, I can't carb backload at night. Fruit doesnt really have a place in my diet, although I did have a few grapes after my 3m run today.

Have ya'll actually read Dr cordains books? He absolutely does not call for or recommend no fruit. Of course too much is bad. Too much of many types of food is bad. Fruits are absolutely instrumental in obtaining a net alkaline diet.

There are plenty of fattening things. I eat more fat than I did before the diet, actually. Almonds, walnuts, avacados, I cook everything with olive oil, supplement with coconut oil and sometimes I'll snack down some proscuitto or salami.

Generally Paleo calls for fruit "in moderation" not minimal fruit. You can still eat it, and after a couple weeks on the diet your tastes buds reset and fruit is like candy lol.

89GT, thats awesome man keep it up! I'm on day 44 of the Lurong Paleo Challenge and I feel great. I want to say that day 7 is where I really started feeling different. Still a couple more weeks to go on the comp, but I plan on staying paleo/primal during the week once its all said and done. I've lost a lot of weight and my workout performance has increased a lot.

oh ok, I was trying to compare it to the CKD diet which typically calls for 60%fat/35%protien/5%carbs.

I may have to find some time to read up on it.

You actually eat a lot of fat on Paleo.
