    I'm a cheap bastard but for olympic lifts in a home gym I'd just get a pair of 45 lb bumper plates and then add normal 35's, 25's etc.

      Everything is much harder on the rings, because you have to use so many extra muscles for stabilization. Muscle ups are a bitch, even dips are challenging. I love working out with rings. I need to get mine hung back up since I moved.

        or find some big chains and hang them over the bar. or get some resistant bands

          Accommodating resistance is different than bar weight.

              I went and bought some rings for the station, now we are just waiting on the city to put in a cross bar high enough that we can hang them, I cant wait!
