  • Advice needed

I have never really worked out before, other than just doing normal activities such as basketball, riding dirtbikes, drumming, etc. In the past 8 months, I've gained 15ish pounds and have acquired a small gut.

I am trying to get into shape and don't really care about bulking up, getting a more defined upper body, or working with free weights. I just want to tone/slim up my stomach area.

I've been told, cardio, cardio, cardio...

I guess my question is what would be the most effiicient way without changing my lifestyle much? I went 6.5 miles on the bike yesterday at the gym. Is this sufficient if done everyday?

I like to drink beer on the weekends, and never do it during the week, and I've pretty much always been able to eat whatever I want.

Please help me, cause I have no clue what I'm getting into when it comes to going to the gym.

    TIA.

I agree with Elvis, just get out and run a few miles 4x a week. If you are serious about being fit I'd strongly suggest weights but you seem to not care much. And diet alone could slim you up if done correctly.

run a little and swap all the sodas/teas, and all other liquid calories for water during the week.

Since you like to get out why dont you ride a mountain bike? It burns a ton of calories and its not as boring as riding on the road.
