I have other projects that need upgrades/replacements. This beauty collects dust these days. This is a fixed gear but it has a rear brake mount. There are a few nicks and scratches but nothing that compromises durability. Garage kept. I keep everything tight and lubed. I have these. I replaced the shitty beat to hell bear traps I had. I'm undecided on going clipless on my MTB so I figured cheap platforms would make it easier to stomach if I want to move up. I only have about 50 miles on them so far but I like them and my feet stay stuck with an old pair of Airwalks. I ride clipless on the road but I'm a little too cavalier (and/or a little under skilled) off road.

This is no joke. I rode RCP today and it whipped my butt. I don't think the 99 degree weather helped, but I can't blame it all on that!

Nice, I am going to look into these too. I've been using "bear traps" and some old cleats up to this point. The cleats would snug in the petals just right and was working for me until I decided if I wanted to go clipless..

Today both the heels of my cleats came off and were flip flopping round during my ride... so I'll be looking for new shoes too...

This thread actually got me into mountain biking last yr. I ride a lot now and raced RCP 2 weekends ago. Not competitive, but had fun. I ran in the Clyde division. Anyway, I went clipless pretty quick, and no way could I go back. Riding some of the technical stuff around here would really stress me out if I wasn't clipped in. You'll fall down some before your muscle memory has you unclipping, but it's when you're stopped really. More like falling over. Usually not bad.

Heading to Smithville next month for a 24hr race. Team of 2, relay style.

All of my bikes have polycarbonate bmx style platforms and none of them are bmx bikes. Cheap demolition pedals have served me well.
