  • Bruised ribs

I've got some slightly bruised ribs that freaking hurt. My question is have you ever worked out with that or should I just rest until they feel better. I've still been doing legs, and biceps, but it hurts like crap if I try to do chest or shoulders or anything else.

    Suggestions?

People will disagree, but rest. You can take a week or two off without losing strength.

In my sport, bruised ribs are a normal thing to deal with. As long as it's just bruising, the tenderness/soreness is just something you have to suck up or take a break, either way you will be fine. Rib injuries suck anyway you look at it. Breathing, moving etc, you just feel it no matter what because it's part of your core.

Are you sure it's just bruising? Is it a floating rib?

It's the one right underneath my left pec. I can do most things tolerating the pain except chest. and back. :-(
