lol, Eh..I get what you are saying but it all depends on how you look at it really. Nogi requires superior timing and leverage. What I don't like about Gi is the players who are dependent on the Gi using it as a stall tactic holding on for dear life. Plus, personally, I like to train more for how I plan to use it which in my case would be self defense street applications.

I would like to GTG though to see how we have both progressed since we last rolled together. I've got quite a few more techniques that I've added I would like to try on someone not from our school to see how you will react possibly not knowing what is coming.

Put on a gi and come on over. Gi you may see stalling in competition for points but we roll to submit in class. Does no one any good to stall in class when nothings on the line. Open up your game and train to get better is how I try to approach it.

I do, just a preference is all. We also train BJJ with striking so you learn how to protect yourself from strikes at all the weird angles so you're not forced just to give your back. Most BJJ guys don't train for it, but we do since it's how it will most likely be used in a real application.

If I was that concerns with self defense I would get a glock and practice some sprints. Haha.

But it all comes down to preference and what your goals are too.

Jd Shelley is a fantastic instructor at ndbjj and a world champ at the no gi worlds thus year in his division.

Go drop in and try a class at both places and weigh your options of what works best as sachse may be further.

Where do you live? Octagon mma is another school in Dallas with a multiple time world champ Bruno bastos teaching.
