Hey, if toast makes or breaks your day...by all means go for it. I'll take the 1000 cal and put it somewhere else each week (bacon?)

As long as you're reasonable you're not gonna hurt your results. Dinner is the main thing. Stick to lean meats and veggies.
Stick with that, use portion control, and for your snacks do something high in protein and low in fat/carbs, especially with the second snack.
Try to eat dinner at least 3 hours before sleeping, and if you get hungry within that time go with something lean like a couple slices of ham or something.

Get the my fitness pal app for your iPhone for calorie counting. Run keeper app for exercises.
I am on week 3 of my lifestyle change and basically cut my carbs down to nothing and eat lots of meats and veggies and drink only water. I've lost 14 pounds so far and a few inches around the waist. You have to change your eating habits. Cut out as much bread as you can stand. Trade out baked potatoes/ fries for sweet potatoes and no pasta. The weight will just start falling off

I figure I consume around 5,000-6,000 calories a day or so.
I eat the same thing everyday(besides dinner), so locking my diet in place is relatively easy.
During the week, I eat...
8am) 1lb of chicken, fresh mushrooms, diced fire roasted tomatoes, seasoning(cooked in a slow cooker on the weekends)
10am) .5lb of plain Greek yogurt, .5lb of flavored Greek yogurt, fresh blueberries, blackberries, raspberries
11am) 50grams of Karbolyn(preworkout)
12-2pm) Workout, Ngage amino mix
2pm) 1lb of chicken, two pieces of potato bread
3pm) 80grams of VPX SRO isolate protein mixed with water, liquid egg whites, milled flax seed, and ice
5-6pm) Dinner(This is where I eat BIG...5-6lbs of food that always consists of some sort of chicken)
8pm) 75grams of Dymatize Iso 100 protein
9pm) Orange Triad, Fish oil, Bed
On the weekends, I still eat clean every meal, just not so uniformed.

I still drink a "real" soft drink every couple of days, and eat more fruits/veggies. I will snack on grapes, bananas or those petite carrots (no dressings). I also eat smaller portions.
If I get hungry, I will snack on lean meats and some cheese.

I'm a low carb guy. Been doing it on and off for 6 year buttttt two years ago I made it a lifestyle. To be honest I don't miss them either to much. One weekend a month I eat whatever I want. It is the easiest way to drop weight for me. No measuring, no thinking about it, no nothing. Good for an easy 10 to 20 lbs a year with out over doing it. I have read all the atkins books and he makes a lot of sense. I am 40 and my vitals are excellent and I take zero meds. Oh and the working out part helps a lot just don't over do it. I do 4 days one week and 2 the next. I also do all sorts of variety. Biking, hiking, swimming, weights, you name it, its all good. The biggest thing for me is cooking up stuff ahead of time.Whos your Daddy?

She knows the drill, lol!
My grocery bill and going out to eat and ordering at least two orders KILLS the pocketbook, but luckily, I do not ever drink.
I do not compete, but have considered doing so.
I just really enjoying training and eating, so it works out rather nice!
One of my good friends is an ex Mr. Kentucky BB'er and I know a few NPC promoters as well, so we will see.
I am about 235 now(haven't even started to "lean" out and probably won't until I'm 240 or so)...
