I have never had a diet, even when I got back in the gym in 2005, and needed to drop 50 lbs. I just retaught myself how to eat. Every person is different, and you have to fine tune your diet to fit your specific needs.
So you've never had a diet...you just fine tune your...diet?

@ 228 and still counting down...
Holy crap dude! You are a machine! I just started exercising. I'm at 210 now and want to get to 190. I'm not nearly as awesome as you, lol.

Props to everyone...especially those that were pushing into the 300's...that's a scary level to be in, health-wise. A friend of mine decided enough was enough when his dr. was about to put him on some serious meds, then he decided to drop 100 lbs and now the meds aren't necessary.
My highest was 205 as of 1/24 and I'm now down to 195 with a goal of 175-180. I have to admit I would've seen a little better progress had I not had too many cheat meals but I still crank out the cardio and eat as best as possible.
I would like to thank all of you for you encouragement, it keeps me going still not at my goal...but have not stopped...will be weighing again soon and will post results up...key is to eat more times a day...
It's all about eating no doubt. I'm down ~30lbs in 2 months by cutting all sugar, breads, anything fried, flour, etc. Sort of a low carb type deal. I've started lifting again as well. I've been a big man my entire life (played offensive line in college @ 290lbs), ballooning up to 350lbs recently.
You dont realize how bad we, as Americans, really eat until you start watching what you eat.
Kudos to you OP, as I hope I can be where you're at in a year (100lbs lighter). Once you get rolling, it turns from being a diet into a real lifestyle change.

Grats, on the 30lbs. And keep it up. probably won't take a year. but you'll find if it does it really don't matter cause you will start feeling better all the time. only problem is you keep needing new clothes l o l
