Dang front fork won't work, now might have to hunt for a cheap one just for now.

It's on my cheap mtn bike, gonna check to make sure the fork will fit the frame. It's just the stud on the wheel is a bit larger than the groove on the fork, if it fits the frame I'll just grind it a bit and get some road tires for now

if you can, many marked down prices on good bikes.

Watch craigslist and the local paper, I haven't had much luck with them but its worth a shot. Check with the smaller bike shops too, one of my buddy's got into a decent road bike rather cheaply because it was used, some students commuter.

found a cannondale, older model at a pawn shop for $199. It had the downtube shifters. Went back and measured it and its too big. measured it a 58cm I think, probly need a 54

found a 1984 Team Fuji Valite for 175. just needs tubes and maybe different tires since Im a heavy guy. Is this pretty good deal? Only thing Ill have to get used to downtube shifters, but just need to get started.

picked up a 2006 trek 1000 for $100. dropped it of at the bike shop
