Anybody heard about this? One of the trainers at the gym bought a set of these straps and brought them with him and was doing a couple of different workouts. He let me do a chest press with them and he told me the greatest thing about them is how much it makes you activate your core. I only did a few reps and my damn abs are still sore two days later. He said he's gonna start using them with some of his clients. I know some of the 24hours are starting to incorporate them in their equipment for use by their members, but I think right now it's only ultra/supersport level places doing them.

Here's a link, and there are some youtube videos as well that can give you a little more info.

Just Fit in Hurst has those as well.
I have no personal experience with them though.

I've never seen these...is it like the Bowlex select tech or resistance bands?

Not at all. It's all using bodyweight. You should look into it if you're wanting to vary your routine. The straps are kinda pricey for what they are, basically truck tie downs with hand grips.

For whatever reason, I cannot get into these types of routines (body weight only, or P90x stuff). I guess it stems from being a hardcore weight based workout. But if anyone has some in the area I would be more than happy to try them and report back.

The thing that I got is that it's more for core excercising than anything else. Like I said, my abs were really sore...and hell, still kinda are today. I found some videos on youtube no how to make your own for about $40-$50. I might try and do that. I hate doing core excercises but if I can incorporate them into a chest and/or back routine, it just seems smart for me to do so.

I just ordered some tie-downs in an attempt to make my own suspension shit. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm now $23 into it. It costs $150+ to buy from TRX.

I'm using a video that I found on youtube to build it. I'm pretty sure I can keep this under $50.
